IP-Board 3.0.5 Upgrade May 22-23

On Saturday & Sunday May 22-23 the board will be upgraded to V3 and the ShoutBox will also be upgraded at that time.

There is no way to anticipate what issues will arise with the upgrade except that the threads and member base will remain intact.

Things that may be disrupted up include: permission sets, profile options, header graphic issues, and a potential for a generic skin in place if this one fails until we can repair/replace it.

We ask that you be aware of this change, and have patience during the time of its upgrade, and any repair work that is required afterwards. A forum thread is setup, to have any feedback, and any problems found by members or staff, linked below, when reporting a problem, if any please provide all information u can

Also the ATS may be down for an unknown amount of time while it gets recoded to the new board's version SQL.

After extensive review and re-structure, the SCC has decided that in the keeping with SC's tradition, it is officially time
to RESURRECT THE ROGUE DIVISION.

What is the future of "Rogue Division"?

Rogue Division was originally establish to allow our gamers to participate in less popular titles, and to evaluate new releases. During
our recent changes, Rogue Division lost its way.

In this re-established Rogue Division, any title will be welcomed. If it gains sufficient popularity, it will be established as a
stand alone division. Additionally, we have decided to implement some changes to accommodate our loyal players who are above the rank
of Corporal. Some of these changes include the following:

* "Cross Divisional Capability" *
* ATS points for CDC players. *
* CDC Squads are only required to participate one day a week. *
* That specific day will be selected by the squad and approved by the Rogue CoC. *

"Cross Divisional Capability"

Members may elect to belong to the their Rogue Division squad and that alone. However, those members who've earned the rank
of Corporal will be allowed to belong to both a Stand-Alone Division (hereafter referred to as a Primary Division) and Rogue Division. This
will be subject to the approval and ongoing support of the member's Primary Division CoC. Therefore, if, at any time, the
member's CoC feels that the member is not devoting a proper amount of time to his/her Primary Division, said CDC privileges
can be suspended indefinitely.

ATS points for CDC players

When attending a Rogue Division's practice, a member will be entitled to the same number of ATS points as they would
in their Primary Division. This includes any optional practices.

CDC Squad Staff must fullfill a degree of responsibility

Due to the nature and altered status of the Rogue Division, members wishing to become SS must be willing to abide
by specific quidelines and requirements.

* Rogue SS must not be SS or Division Staff in a Primary Division as well. *
* SS must commit to 2 practices (to accomidate all members of the squad). *

CDC Squad members are only required to participate one day a week

Squad members that are participating in a CDC capacity must only attend one practice per week. This assures their Division and
the Squad of the member's dedication, but it does not ask so much of the member as to be unreasonable.

Specific practice days will be selected by the squad and approved by the Rogue CoC

Due to the nature of this Division, the squad will be required to establish a practice time that does not conflict
with that of the member's primary Division. Therefore, the squad as a whole will aid the Squad Staff in determining what
days of the week will be most accomidating. Then, the SS may submit the desired days to the Division CoC for
clearance. If approved, the squad will officially be assigned the days and then must contact the CoC if a change in
schedule is later needed.

More to come. We will be getting the Rogue Division up and running in the coming weeks. Please remain patient and
direct your questions to your appropriate CoC.

CoD6 MW2 Transition

Here is the schedule for the upcoming Division Opening/Transition. As we here in SC have a fairly strong grasp of the CoD series, we feel it will acceptable to bypass our standard Trial Period, nor will we be placing it first into the Rogue Division for evaluation. We will be opening and manning a Standalone Division in preparation for the game release. Please note, the HTO will be posting for the HTIA seperately (please keep you eye out for the vacancy posting over the next few weeks).

CoC Selection

October 28th: Wednesday, we will post the openings for DO/CO/XO. Members can note which or all positions they would like to apply for.
October 31st: Saturday, the JCoS will select the DO. Then, the DO will assist the JCoS in the selection of the CO. And finally, the CO will assist the JCoS and DO in the selection of the XO.
November 3rd: Tuesday, the CO/XO of 1st Battalion will post the openings for each PL/PA.
November 6th: Friday, the CO/XO would select the two PLs, and the PL will assist in selecting the PAs.
November 7th: Saturday, we will have the final list of transfer members and will know approximately how many new squads would be needed. At that time, the Battalion Staff will post for the needed new SL and SA positions.
November 10th: Tuesday (Game Release Day), the CO/XO/PL/PA will then select the SLs and the SLs will assist with selecting the SAs. This will afford them all a chance to prepare to lead their first practices, the next day (Wednesday).

Transfer Protocol

All of our Division CoCs are currently compiling lists of members that will be transfering. We need to have this list finalized by November 7th. However, the sooner the better, as the longer a member waits, the less control he/she will have in selecting which squad he/she is placed into. All members MUST follow the proper CoC, starting at the SL/SA level, to submit their intentions to transfer.

Attention Shadow Company Members!

We are thrilled to announce a new aspect to the Shadow Company Community!

As some of you may have noticed we have opened a part of the forums called the 'Most Valuable Player'.

This is a new award that will be awarded to members of our community who are exlemporary in every sense.

The MVP will be awarded monthly and the criteria to be met are:

The Shadow Company Monthly MVP is designed to acknowledge superior SC members in a given month. The member must be a proven leader and contributor to the community as a whole. Must show exlemporary behavior on and off the battlefield by, but not limited to, leading extra training sessions or overall preformance above and beyond the call of duty.

This is only eligible to SL and below

If you wish to nominate one of your fellow members for the Shadow Company MVP send a PM to SC-MVP with the following information including:

- Why do you feel that this person deserves the MVP Position?

Shadow Company Press Office Announcement

Shadow Company is pleased to announce the creation of a new section of its staff in the Press office. The press office will be in charge of creating and co-ordinating the media developments of SC in conjunction with the web team. The primary purpose of the press office will be to produce a Newsletter / paper for the SC Community. This process is still in development but the aim is to create a multi-page document that will cover news and developments in SC, as well as tactical information covering the different game franchises that we operate. It will also feature articles relating to military history, game history, up and coming games and reviews, Features on members.

If this is something that sounds interesting to you, then the press office would be interested to hear from you, the press office command is currently looking for people to fill the various roles that are going to be required in order to operate this section of the SC community, as with the web team there will be a commitment to producing work for this section, but with that comes the prestige and fun of doing so.

The positions currently under devlopment are listed below:

- Press Office Command - CWO Luetin

- Press Editor - One person to view the sub editors, and the production deadline and proof the final print

- 3-4 Sub editors - works with the journalists and constructs their sections

- reporters /journalists provide the info and basic written material

- 1/2 graphic artists to provide detail graphics blocks etc

New Divisions Announcement

It is with great pleasure and delight we announce that Shadow Company has added to new game franchises to our list of available divisions. HAWX and Operation Flashpoint 2. These two new games look to make us even stronger in the gaming community not just by increasing member numbers but by giving SC an edge in offering our members more options for their online interactive gaming entertainment. We have included a small synopsis on both of these new game franchises. This is an exciting time for SC and we look forward to welcoming new members to our community.

HAWX: High Altitude Warfare Experimental (Squadron) Release Date: 3/5/2009

Namco Bandai's Ace Combat franchise has been pretty much the uncontested king of console flight combat sims for over 10 years now. However, UbiSoft's latest Tom Clancy franchise, H.A.W.X, is looking to take that crown for themselves. In a recent interview with the team working on the title, it was revealed that H.A.W.X will support both Sixaxis use and trophies.
While not much was mentioned about the trophy list, the team did go into more specifics on the Sixaxis support. Pilots will be able to control their jets every movement with the Sixaxis, a la Warhawk, in both assistance on(an easier control scheme) and assistance off(a more challenging scheme) modes. Warhawk vets will no doubt be pleased with this news.

Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising Release date: Q2 2009 (June/July)

An epic campaign weaves the narrative, Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising will give players the freedom to handle military crisis situations on their initiative. Unscripted missions will task players with real objectives, such as laying down suppressing fire, covering a friendly unit�s retreat or conducting short-range recon patrol.
Players will fight as infantry soldiers in battle, drive tanks in armored assaults, pilot helicopters in air strikes and infiltrate the enemy in covert special operations utilizing a wide variety of realistic military weapons from knives and rifles to machine guns, grenade launchers and laser designators for air strikes. Whatever the situation, players will need to balance brute force with intelligent use of tactics in their engagement against the full force of the PLA.
Set on a vast oil-rich island located off the eastern coast of Russia, just north of Japan, Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising's plot takes place during a time of tension between Russia and China over the island's disputed ownership.

Shadow Company History

After receiving several inquiries about how our clan Shadow Company came to be we have decided to write up a small history as to how we formed and organized. Enjoy!

After several months and years being members of Tactical Warfare, another gaming clan that supported both the Xbox and Playstation 3, a number of members decided to break off and start a gaming community that focused more to the Playstation 3 aspect of gaming. While using a similar structure to what we were used to at TW, we created Shadow Company. We are in no way affiliated with Tactical Warfare, we are both 2 separate organizations. More input from members has been utilized in our daily operations and we have an overseeing group of leaders instead of having one person lead all. With a strong leadership structure and our numbers growing by the hour, we are dedicated to having the Playstation 3 gamer be at the forefront of the exciting future of online gaming. Shadow Company was the intellectual property of few but belongs to so many.

COD W@W & COD4 Divisions Announced

Shadow Company is pleased to announce we are keeping COD4 Modern Warfare in addition to COD W@W. Tuesday 11/11/2008 was the release date for W@W. Most of our members purchased this game on release date. However for those who are not able to get the new game or do not want to play W@W, we will continue to support COD4 Modern Warfare along with COD W@W. This is now a two version division so you can consider them a two division, division. You can decide on what version to play as your main and you will be assigned to a squad on the appropriate version. If you get bored or sick of one you can request a transfer through your CoC just like any other division transfer request.

Killzone 2 Announcement

Shadow Company is pleased to announce that we will be adding the Killzone division to our 1st Corps in anticipation of the new release of Killzone 2 scheduled Febuary 2009. From trailers and reviews this looks to be a very clan friendly game and should fit in nicely with our already successful divisions. We anticipate good turn out with recruiting and current members looking to transfer, which will certainly add to it's potential.
